Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: July 27, 2026
Rude Insect is reader-supported. When you click certain links on this site and make a purchase, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the lights on and the content free.
What this means for you
The FTC requires us to be upfront: some links on Rude Insect are "affiliate links." If you click one and complete a purchase, we receive a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is identical whether or not you use our link.
Programs we participate in
- Amazon Associates — Rude Insect is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
- Awin / ShareASale (publisher ID: 2896019) — We participate in programs from brands including Garden Tower Project, Bootstrap Farmer, and others distributed through the Awin network.
- Impact Radius — Affiliate partnerships with brands such as MasterClass and others on the Impact platform.
- Shopify Collabs — Direct affiliate arrangements with independent brands in the gardening and homesteading space.
Our editorial independence
Affiliate relationships do not influence which products we recommend or how we rank them. We recommend products we have researched against current documentation, listings, limitations, and cited guidance. If a product earns a commission but we don’t think it’s worth buying, we don’t recommend it.
Third-party cookies
Retailers in these programs may set cookies on your device when you click an affiliate link. These cookies track whether a purchase originates from our site so the commission can be credited. We do not receive personally identifying information through these cookies — only aggregate purchase data.
